Inspiration

During the Africa House of Prayer Conference of 2011 in Arusha, Rev. Eng Emmanuel Mwesigwa was inspired by Dr. James and Lorna Magara’s talk on the need for Christian based Education to counter the humanistic world view. The Mwesigwa family eventually started a home school in 2012. The vision of the full school was born in 2014 when an increased demand was realized and the Arinaitwe Family in the neighborhood joined the Mwesigwas to start Shoma Christian Academy

Motto and Vision

The School Motto is “Comprehensive Nurture”, while her Mission is “To provide a loving community where learning and living are transformed by a Christian Perspective of truth and purpose – developing character and growing servant leadership capacity to the honour and glory of Jesus Christ”.

Child Upbringing

Skills development and holistic growth activities are given due attention among learners; these include: music, local language development, art and nature studies, physical fitness and stage performance. The school also assists parents to “Train up a child in the way (s)he should go” (Proverbs 22:6).

Parental Involvement

Two Parents’ Fellowships are held every term, to share insights and sharpen one another on the complementary roles of home and school. Children also take this opportunity to make creative and academic presentations.

Shoma Christian Academy has two campuses; the Day campus is located in Ntinda, on Plot 280 Buye, just 800m from the main Ntinda junction in Kampala, and the Boarding Campus is located along Kasanje Road, 8km off Mpigi Highway.

The school was started in February 2015 with a main objective of increasing access to Christian based education using the Accelerated Christian Education Program. Shoma values the individualized model that emphasizes character building while relaying holistic education with the Lord God at the center of it all.
